I’ll be honest, I don’t think anyone can replace at this moment John Galliano. He definitely can mix elegance with extravagance, put a little retro twist and voila an amazing collection is born . When I hear “DIOR” I know that I’m going to watch a mind-blowing show. The dresses of Galliano for Dior are pure piece of art. The looks are perfectly detailed, there isn’t a piece that repeats and the word “ordinary” is the last thing that can come into your mind after watching a Dior collection by John Galliano.
Sadly the Gallano Era is over.
Now when Bill Gaytten’s experimental (can’t use other word) work for Dior is over, after one year hearing all kinds of suggestions from fashion editors and bloggers to fashion designers – Who has to be the head designer of Dior’s fashion house, we finally have Raf Simons as head creative director at Dior!
I can’t say that I’m in love with his first Haute Couture collection for Dior but I like it. It’s sophisticated and elegant. I think in the future we’re going to see more interesting and fabulous creations form Raf Simons.
It’s definitely a fresh start for the House of Dior. A new era – Raf Simons ERA!
